This is a meant only as a loose guide for installing the cap kit, and for altering the audio to reduce the buzzing noise. Some experience required. I now sell my own Vectrex cap kit, made with high-quality, high-temperature caps.

I removed the screws holding the picture tube to the case...

You can also give the tube & speaker grille a good cleaning. While you're hear, clean the cartridge port too.

For the audio fix: Remove the audio connector from the logic board. In this picture, it's already been removed.

Solder the center lead of your coax to the audio connector. Solder the braid to the ground connector of the audio potentiometer. You'll notice the additional green wire in this picture. Ignore it. However, note the routing of the cable... very important.

Reinstall the logic board assembly. Replace the plastic power board retainer on the power board.

Reinstall the power board, neck board, and other connectors. Now we'll attach the audio to the power board.

Soldier the audio and the ground to the power board. The ground must be a good, hearty solder connection, since it is the new logic board ground. Now, you can power it up & make sure that everything checks out.
